I am Paul, a primary school teacher for the past 10 years. I have had my highs and lows, and I love teaching, but sometimes I wish the blogs I read, or Pinterest posts of classrooms were a little more honest. So my blog is my intention to present the honest side of teaching which is hopefully funny, interesting and informative. It will cast a sly eye on teaching!

International Day of the Girl: 5 Picture Books and Stories for School that put Girls at the Heart of the Story

I love picture books and I usually try to pick ones that don't perpetrate stereotypes or are biased. My favourite ones usually are around teaching about all families. Cecelia Gavigan and I co-authored one here;

However, I have a strong sense that schools need to empower girls a little more and to pick resources where they are not always the princess being saved!

Here are my favourite books that do just that! All can be bought on www.thebookdepository.com
